Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This policy covers Lumen at lumen-dev.leveredgeai.com, including its account and research features. “We” means the owner operating this private Lumen beta. Contact the operator at [email protected].

Lumen is under development. This policy distinguishes available features from features that may be enabled later. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we handle

• Account information: your email address, approval status, role, sign-in method, and account history. If you establish an email/password account, Lumen stores a password hash, not a readable copy of your password.
• Security information: session and sign-in records, verification or recovery information, request-limiting records, and records of access and administrative changes.
• Research information: questions you submit, selected sources, research settings, results, citations, and request history. Lumen also stores public-source reporting and related evidence.
• Usage information: permitted actions, cost estimates, usage, budget reservations, recorded charges, errors, and service activity.
• Messages to us: your address, message, and any information you choose to include in a support or privacy request.

When you request an available cost estimate, Lumen stores the question and settings with that estimate, even if you do not confirm the research request.

Our connection provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested addresses, and connection times to deliver and protect the website.

3. Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Lumen requests basic identity and email permissions (openid and email). Google supplies a unique account identifier, your email address, email-verification information, and, when applicable, your Workspace domain.

Lumen uses this information to verify sign-in, match your account to the approved-email list, and maintain your sign-in identity. It stores the Google identifier and email associated with your Lumen account. It does not request Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, profile photos, or permission to act on those services.

Lumen does not retain Google access or refresh tokens for accessing Google services. Google identity information is not used for advertising, sold, or sent to research models. You can review or remove the connection in your Google Account connections. Removing that connection does not automatically delete Lumen records.

Google handles its sign-in service under the Google Privacy Policy.

4. How information is used

We use information to provide approved account access, protect the service, manage permissions, store and present research, respond to requests, and keep records of usage and spending. Administrators can review account access and operational records.

Lumen does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. The current application does not include advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics.

5. Who can receive information

• Within Lumen: your request history is access-controlled. Saved publisher evidence and identical processing can be reused across approved users. The operator can access stored information to administer and support the service.
• Cloudflare: provides the public website connection and processes traffic passing through it. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
• Google: confirms your identity when you use Google sign-in. Our contact mailbox also uses Google Workspace.
• Resend, when account email is enabled: will receive the destination address and account-message content, including verification or recovery links. Account email delivery is not available in this release. See Resend’s Privacy Policy.

No external AI research service is connected in this release. If one is enabled, it may receive the question, source excerpts, and task information needed for authorized research. We will identify the provider and update this policy before enabling that processing. Research services remain subject to administrator permissions and spending controls.

Do not include passwords, financial account details, or confidential personal information in research questions. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service or other people, limited to information relevant to the purpose.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. This beta does not promise storage or processing exclusively within a particular country.

6. Cookies and browser preferences

Lumen uses essential cookies to support sign-in, protect forms, and maintain your session. Sign-in preparation cookies last up to 20 minutes; the account-session cookie lasts up to 8 hours. Sessions can end earlier because of inactivity, sign-out, or a change in access.

These cookies use HTTPS and are not readable by page scripts. Lumen also saves your Day or Night preference in your browser’s local storage. That preference stays until you change it or clear your browser storage. It is not used to track you across websites.

You can block or clear browser cookies and storage. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in from working. Google and Cloudflare may use their own browser technologies under their policies.

7. Storage, security, and retention

Lumen uses a dedicated application database and restricted credentials. HTTPS protects the connection to the website. Account permissions restrict access, and password and session protections are built into the service. No system can guarantee complete security.

Account, research, security, and spending records may remain after sign-out or removal of access. Ending a session or expiring a link does not necessarily erase its record. We retain information needed to operate the workspace, maintain research history, resolve uncertain charges, investigate abuse, and meet applicable obligations.

This beta does not yet provide automatic account deletion or a fixed deletion schedule for every record type. Copies may also remain in backups or with service providers. Contact us to request deletion; we will review what can be removed and explain any information that must be retained.

8. Your choices and requests

Email [email protected] to ask about your information, request access or a correction, request deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Please do not email passwords or verification codes.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or a complaint to a privacy regulator. This policy does not limit rights provided by applicable law.

Lumen is intended for adults approved by its owner. It is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this page and its effective date when practices change. Material changes to the use of Google account information will be disclosed before the new use, with consent requested where required.
